Band Rules
Leads & Betas:
Foals & Maturity:
Bands Activeness:
delicate rules by Delusional
Leads & Betas:
- 1 lead stallion and 1 lead mare per Band
- A band is formed after a Stallion claims his first Mare
- Lead stallions may claim rogue mares, make and block steals, challenge and be challenged by others
- Lead stallions are mainly protection, expanding the band and good breeding for the mares
- Lead stallions may choose if Beta is allowed to breed the mares
- Lead Mares more or less keep the band together in times of crises, reassures the rest everything is okay. Knows the best grazing places and waters sources. Knows the best places to hide during bad weather. The caretaker
- First Mare claimed is automatically Lead Mare (change in IC thread)
- Only 1 Beta stallion is allowed after 4 mares are claimed by lead stallion.(having 8+ mares does not get you a second Beta)
- Betas are extra protection only - defend against steals if Lead stallion is unavailable
- Betas can not make steals or claims for the band
- Lead Mares may defend against steals if Lead stallion is unavailable
- Lead Mares have the right to kick any other member out(besides Beta) by IC thread only (Has to wait a 2 weeks after member has joined band before officially booting them out)
- Lead stallion may not reclaim the booted member for 2 season after officially being kicked out
- Lead Mares have rights to demote an inactive Lead Stallion, ONLY if there is a Beta to replace him.
- Demoted Lead Stallion is instantly kicked from the Band and is a bachelor stallion once again
- Lead Mare has right to disband the Band if the lead Stallion is inactive and there is NO Beta stallion to take over
- Demoted Lead Stallion must wait 1 site season before challenging to take back old Band.
Foals & Maturity:
- All foals under the age of one year NEEDS a mother/foster mother or else they WILL be dead/killed off
- A yearling foal may become motherless but if it is without a band as well it's chances of survival are very slim. It's health will be compromised for quite a while
- All foals are considered foals until the age of 2: then they are officially adults and are fertile
- A foal is automatically stolen with it's mother in successful steals
- If a mare has a yearling and a newborn foal at the same time, the yearling has become a general band foal. Yearling still may be loyal to it's mother but will not be taken if Mare and Newborn are taken in a steal
- Yearlings may be stolen as an individual
- Yearlings are allowed to stay with the mother and newborn is a disbandment happens
- Colts are automatically kicked from their Bands at 2 years of age: thus becoming bachelors
- A colt may only stay if he's chosen to be the Beta(4 mare rule still applies)
- Fillies may stay or leave the band at age of 2 years, depending on twhat the leads allow.
- 2 yr old Fillies that stay with the band can now be counted as a mare of the Band.
- 2 yr old Fillies that leave their bands are now Rogue Mares and MUST make a free claims thread
Bands Activeness:
- Bands MUST be kept active otherwise they risk being automatically disbanded.
- To keep a Band active, there must be half as many threads active as there are members in the band
Ex: Band of Ten need a total of five active threads, Band of Two need One active thread. Odd numbers round up one - Active threads - last two posts in the thread are at least less than two weeks old upon updating/added to Band Logs.
- Band Logs are to be updated weekly, bi-weekly at the very latest. (It's simply easier to update them right after a claims/steals/challenges/events has happened but designating a specific day of the week works better for others)
- If a Band is struggling to keep up the correct number of active threads, Staff/Band Keepers have right to warn and then follow through with taking the less active members from a Band to ease the burden
- Staff or Band Keepers will post a warning note if a Band Log has not been updated in three or more weeks
- A second warning will be pmed to the script writer of each lead of the Band
- Lead Mare will be asked by the staff if the Lead Stallion should be demoted ONLY if there is a Beta Stallion available in the Band
- Disbandment will follow if nothing is updated or changed after both warnings are given and there is no Beta to take over
- Upon Disbanding - All Mares are Rogues again and need to update their Free claim threads. Newborns/yearling foals stay w/ mothers, Mothers make note of this in Your claims threads. Betas return to being Bachelors
- Lead Stallions are to make/edit the Band Logs
- Lead Mares, Betas and Band members may post updates and threads that need to be added/fixed in the logs. (Beta/Lead Mare blocks a steal or Band members starts/finishes a thread)
once Lead Stallion posts "Logs Edited" Staff of sorts will delete posts by L-mare,Beta and B-members. - When a Beta stallion is Promoted to Lead Stallion, he MUST make a new Band Log
- These updates are crucial - yes tedious and at times annoying but it helps keep things in order so we're not hunting down anything if there's questions. Also keeps the story rolling
